Description

Im planning on a 7 canvas project ...one picture from each of CS Lewis's narnia books.

just cuz i love them and im gonna do a unique scene for every book thats just outta my head....but keeping narnia's general feel to it.

This one is Queen Jadis obviosuly, leading the children out of the dying world CHARN.
I tried to get her to look gracefull but powerfull at the same time...and Polly is fighting the whole way cuz she pretty much hates the whole damn situation digory has gotten her into....while digory is blantantly mesmerized by the preposterous size of the sun.....

ANYway just view it how you like...i might change details later but i was dying to get this up :)
thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ACRYLIC ON CANVAS

The Magician's Nephew - Chapter 5

Low down and near the horizon hung a great, red sun, far bigger than our sun. Diggory felt at once that it was also older than ours: a sun near the end of its life, weary of looking down upon that world.
p.58

"Look well on that which no eyes will ever see again,"said the Queen. "Such was Charn, that great city, the city of the Kings of Kings, the wonder of the world, perhaps of all worlds..."
p.59

She paused for a moment to look once more at the deserted city - as if she was sorry for all the evil she had done there, she certainly didn't show it - and then said: "Now, let us be going. It is cold here at the end of all the ages."
Polly and Diggory looked at each other, aghast.

I always loved The Magician's Nephew, and thought the idea of the two kids going to Charn was a mind-blowing adventure when I was 13. That story indirectly inspired a story project I write over at my blog, and never got rid of my "world-hopping" bug as a story subject since.

It's awesome you did this on canvas. The queen's crown is just as I imagined it!
